2007 TR Passalacqua Cabernet Sauvignon, Block 13

Tasting Notes

This wine was tasted on January 26, 2019 from a 750ml bottle that was stored between 50-55 degrees Fahrenheit. Older vintages may show some bottle variation depending upon storage conditions and differences in cork density. Also, please note that some library bottlings may take an additional one to two weeks to process and ship.

Block 13 usually gives a very soft tannin structure, and drinks well young. The 2007 vintage has opened up into wild strawberry, with floral notes on the nose. The tannins still have finesse, and pair well with the brown spice and cedar found on the palate. I suggest drinking this wine now, and if cellared properly up through 2023.

Winemaker's Notes

Fruit from Block 13 develops on an eastern-facing, rocky slope in the middle of the vineyard, at the lowest point on the ranch. This site tends to accentuate Cabernet’s berry and plummy characters, showing a softer tannin structure. The Toomes rocky loam and cooler temperatures extend ripening to produce the vineyard’s most classic Cabernet.
