2012 TR Passalacqua Cabernet Sauvignon, Block 13

Tasting Notes

This wine was tasted on January 26, 2019 from a 750ml bottle that was stored between 50-55 degrees Fahrenheit. Older vintages may show some bottle variation depending upon storage conditions and differences in cork density. Also, please note that some library bottlings may take an additional one to two weeks to process and ship.

Block 13 is the embodiment of finesse and approachability in its youth. The palate is luxuriant with fine tannin wrapped in anise and brambly blackberry. Aromas of black olive and cedar pop from this inky colored wine, and it has a great weight and density that finishes with cigar and sweet oak. This wine will drink well now through 2029.

Winemaker's Notes

Fruit from Block 13 develops on an eastern-facing, rocky slope in the middle of the vineyard, at the lowest point on the ranch. This site tends to accentuate Cabernet’s berry and plummy characters, showing a softer tannin structure. The Toomes rocky loam and cooler temperatures extend ripening to produce the vineyard’s most classic Cabernet.
