2016 Quince Pinot Noir Anderson Valley

Tasting Notes

These three Dijon clones knit together so well, 115 bringing black cherry, boysenberry, and roses, while the 667 and 777 bring black fleshy plum and a deep rich color. This site brought what I love so much about Anderson Valley; a background of damp earth, mushroom, and forest floor. The palate boasts silky tannin and a depth that was accentuated by aging 16 months in barrel. The more you swirl this wine in your glass the more it will open up and sing.

Winemaker's Notes

Our 2016 Anderson Valley Pinot comes from an organically farmed vineyard near Philo, sitting above the valley at about 900ft elevation. It’s a beautifully steep northwest facing hillside that is cooled by the wind and fog coming in from the pacific. All three clones were fermented and kept separate throughout the aging process, then blended just prior to bottling. The fruit was 100% de stemmed and went through “native” fermentation. Aged in 100% French oak, 1/3 new, 1/3 once used, and 1/3 twice used barrels.
