2018 Estate Zinfandel

Tasting Notes

Our Estate Vineyard brings dark luscious fruit, vanilla, and cinnamon to the palate, complementing the dusty tannin structure in this bold, rich Zinfandel. Ageing this wine in Burgundian barrels accentuates its broad, rich mouthfeel. Our Estate Zinfandel brings consistently focused, lush flavors that will appeal to a wide range of palates, making it the wine to take with you anywhere.

Winemaker's Notes

Our Estate Vineyard was planted in 1990 to 1.5 acres of light-loam, well-drained soil that slopes down toward Lambert Bridge Road. The vines have no trellising, but are instead head trained, the same technique used by Italian immigrants over 100 years ago. Jessica prunes these vines by hand, to get them just right for the following vintage. We later drop excess fruit to reduce the yield to about two tons per acre. Lowering the fruit level while keeping leaf and fruit development in balance, focuses the vines’ finite energy on the remaining fruit and concentrates its flavors. All of the care and attention devoted to our vines, shines through in this lovely bottle of wine.
