Radici della Famiglia Otto

Tasting Notes

The Otto is a dark brooding wine with elements of baking chocolate, black cherry, and cedar shavings. There’s a vibrant acidity thanks to the Sangiovese that carries the palate to the powerful dusty Cabernet tannin structure, which will enable this wine to age gracefully for many years. The toasty vanilla oak characteristics, dried fruit, and a touch of earth marry so well that it is difficult to tease out the details. This unique blend is favored each year for its versatility - it is a natural to serve with hors d’oeuvres right through the meal to a cheese course.

Winemaker's Notes

Otto marks the eighth vintage of our signature Super-Tuscan blend. Every year the exact composition changes in order to maintain consistency and deliver the most intriguing and complex wine. The Otto is 40% 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon from the TR Passalacqua Ranch, and 60% 2014 Sangiovese from Saini Farms, both in Dry Creek Valley.
