Radici della Famiglia Undici

Tasting Notes

The Undici boasts its Italian heritage, showing the beautiful contrasting aromas of violets and roses balanced against earth and tar. The mouth brings more red cherry, and a vibrant acidity thanks to the Sangiovese. The Cabernet brings a powerful tannin structure that will enable this wine to age gracefully for many years. The toasty vanilla oak characteristics, dried fruit, and a touch of earth marry so well that it is difficult to tease out the details. This unique blend is favored each year for its versatility - it is a natural to serve with hors d’oeuvres right through the meal, and on to a cheese course.

Winemaker's Notes

Undici marks the Eleventh vintage of our signature Super-Tuscan blend. Every year the precise composition changes in order to maintain consistency and deliver the most intriguing and complex wine. The Undici is 53% 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon from the TR Passalacqua Ranch, and 47% 2017 Sangiovese. Our Sangiovese comes from two different vineyards in Dry Creek Vally, Saini Farms, and Lago Di Merlo Vineyards.
