2008 TR Passalacqua Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Block 2

Tasting Notes

This wine was tasted on January 26, 2019 from a 750ml bottle that was stored between 50-55 degrees Fahrenheit. Older vintages may show some bottle variation depending upon storage conditions and differences in cork density. Also, please note that some library bottlings may take an additional one to two weeks to process and ship.

The 2008 Block 2 is dark garnet in color. The nose, though shy at first, opens up to aromas of dark chocolate, pie crust, and cedar after a few swirls of the glass. The tannins are in the forefront, but mingle effortlessly with the nutmeg and vanilla flavors on its fleshy palate. I suggest drinking this wine now, and if cellared properly, up through 2025.

Winemaker's Notes

The vines of Block 2 grow in Arbuckle gravel loam on a steep, south-facing slope of the TR Passalacqua Vineyard. Two years of aging in Demptos French barrels smooth the tannins and lend toasty oak and spice to perfectly complement the fruit. Enjoy the delicious black plum flavors and nice level of acidity with your lighter Cabernet dishes as well as nuts and cheese.
