Tasting Notes

This smooth, decadent wine is broad and fruity on the palate, with luscious plum flavors with hints of fennel and baking cocoa, in the background you’ll find a savory quality with umami, and forest floor notes. The tannin is velvety and rich on the palate with a lingering density.

Winemaker's Notes

Fruit from Block 13 develops on an eastern-facing, rocky slope in the middle of the vineyard, at the lowest point on the ranch. This site tends to accentuate Cabernet’s berry and plummy characters, showing a softer tannin structure. The Toomes rocky loam and cooler temperatures extend ripening to produce the vineyard’s most classic Cabernet.
