2022 Moonbright Zinfandel

Tasting Notes

This vineyard has the perfect combination of site, exposure, soil, and vines, to truly showcase how fantastic Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel can be. The 2022 Moonbright is full of black cherries, plum, and a little cassis. All components are coming into balance on the palate; the dark fruit up front is integrating with the dusty tannin and toasty oak structure. The finish is all blackberry pie, calling for you to take another sip.

Winemaker's Notes

This our second vintage with Moonbright Vineyards and it certainly is a spectacular one. This tiny block was planted in 1999 using cuttings from a 100-year-old vineyard up on Bradford Mountain. It sits on a steep hillside just above the valley floor with beautiful red soils and east facing exposure. The grapes ripen slowly, maintaining balanced acidity and a dark fruit profile. Moonbright is completely farmed by hand due to its small size and steep slope, and is meticulously farmed with every intention of growing the highest quality grapes. Our Moonbright Zinfandel is a fantastic representation of the depth, complexity, and power that can come from Dry Creek Valley.
