FUTURES: 2019 Watson Ranch Zinfandel case
Released in Spring of 2021.
Buying futures means you pay for wines that are still aging in barrel and will not be released for at least a year. Wine is sold by the case only (12 bottles). This will guarantee you access to our most limited production wines at the very lowest price available.
The big fruit forward nose continues on into the palate with more black plum, and blackberry notes. There is a nice balance of tannin and structure, but also a velvety richness that rounds out the finish, mingling with some toasty vanilla notes, lingering long on the palate.
The Watson Ranch was planted by Ruth and Wilbur Watson in the mid 1940’s on a picturesque east facing hillside in upper Dry Creek Valley. These gnarled old vines are dry farmed, but they have been on that hillside so long their roots have found consistent water and they have regulated the perfect amount of grapes to produce. Not much seems to faze these monster Zin vines. The fruit we get from this ranch is dark and concentrated, with layers of dark brambly berries.
